Church Planting

Plant a New Service

Traditional Sunday morning services aren’t for everyone. In October last year parish leaders from across the Anglican Diocese of Toronto attended a workshop on starting a new service to reach new people. Check out this audio slide show recap:

John Bowen, the Director of the Institute of Evangelism at Wycliffe College, gave the keynote at the workshop:

The Rev. Judy Paulsen, one of the workshop’s speakers, also shared questions to ask before starting a new service, a list of other helpful resources and a suggested order of worship.

If you’re thinking about starting a new service and want more information contact the Diocesan Canon Missioner, the Rev. Canon Susan Bell at 416-363-6021 or 1-800-668-8932, ext. 208 or Elizabeth McCaffrey, Congregational Development Coordinator, 416-363-6021 or 1-800-668-8932, ext. 225.

Are you a Church Planter?

The Diocese of Toronto uses the Planter Assessment System to discern preparedness for church planting. If you sense God may be calling you to plant a church or a fresh expression, start by taking the survey Are you a Church Planter?

Then, if you want more information, contact mission or Missional Coach, the Rev. Canon Dr. Duke Vipperman, 416-363-6021 or 1-800-668-8932, ext. 225.
